Speedmark Australia Heads To South Melbourne

Posted on 16th September 2020

National freight and shipping company Speedmark Australia has leased a self-contained whole floor office in South Melbourne for its new Melbourne headquarters.

Stephen Land of Fitzroys negotiated the lease in conjunction with Dixon Kestles’ Simon Regan, on behalf of private investors.

The 356sqm office includes four parking spaces and was leased for four years at $75,000 per annum plus GST.

Land said the space featured part of an existing fit-out that will be retained, and was of interest to a number of tenants. Other companies that enquired included software developers and e-commerce businesses, lawyers, engineering and construction firms, property developers and architects.

“The main attraction was the excellent natural light, with the north-facing aspect also offering panoramic views of the CBD skyline.”

Speedmark Australia is amalgamating a number of smaller offices, including locations on Queens Road and another in Port Melbourne.

“South Melbourne was central to these existing sites, and the property is in a highly accessible inner city location with attractive lifestyle amenities, which are becoming increasingly popular,” Land said.

The space is within walking distance to tram routes 96 and 12, as well as Clarendon Street and the South Melbourne Market.

Throughout the CBD and metropolitan markets, fitted office spaces in the sub-500sqm category have been increasingly sought-after as businesses navigate the altered landscape.

Speedmark Australia will add to the existing fit-out and update the internal office.

This was the remaining vacancy in the building, and the deal was conducted during and throughout the COVID-19 and various lockdown periods. Fitzroys leased the ground floor and level one office of circa 450sqm last year to Angela Sdrinis Legal.
